Laurel Gray Vineyards

Château Meyney

Saint-Estèphe Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2020

My friend @Dave had this recently and said it was drinking well so I pulled one of my bottles. I struggle to find food that good Bordeaux shines with. Maybe our cooking wheelhouse doesn’t click with it. In any event, AFTER dinner this wine seemed really good. Nose is developing some nice complexity, with dark cassis, roasted Persian spices, cedar, moist gray clay, a bit of sweet wafty smoke. Rich and softening nicely in the mouth, with cigar box and cassis/plummy flavors, and some flinty minerality in the finish. I almost always like wine with food better than just wine, but not this. This is really fine to sip and contemplate. Great value. — 14 days ago

Put your dukes up fellas! Start chucking jerobaums of that early vintage Meyney! Nobody should be the wine police!

I would love to drink 40 year old Bordeaux every day, but it's not going to happen. And i don't have enough time on this earth to age anything that long. So, I take what I can when I can! Sometimes I am blessed to have a fine wine that is decades old; most often it's going to be in the 6 to 10 year range. But, when I win the lottery that will all change 🤞 @Doug Powers

@Dave, if you make it out my way, I’ll make sure you get some 1980s Bordeaux and California Cabernet.

Laurel Glen Vineyard

Sonoma Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

2013 vintage. Captures more than a bit of that old-school, 80's-90's Laurel Glen magic and oomph. Firing right now and for the foreseeable future. Medium/medium-heavy body. 2.18.26. — 2 months ago

Laurel Glen

Cabernet Sauvignon 1985

Shows a little of the bell pepper aromas that I often found in older Sonoma Cabs, but nicely balanced fruit that is still quite youthful, tannins have mostly receded, drinking quite well tonight, bravo Patrick for making this gem!! — 3 years ago
