This is a red wine, but it is orange in the glass, and it pours up with a healthy white foam that dissipates rather quickly. The nose is very earthy and unlike most other Lambruscos I have tasted. The aromas center on citrus, apricot, and herbal notes, with a yeasty twist. The flavors are quite earthy, too, and not at all what I would expect from a red wine, even one that’s orange. This is a classic method rose Lambrusco aged 42 months on the lees. Vivid notes of raspberry, pomegranate, and grapefruit on the palate with hints of toasted almond. There seems to be a little bit of spice as well. The finish is nice with floral notes popping through. Vibrant acidity. Paired well with garlic and mint scallops with herb risotto. — 3 months ago

This wine is slightly frizzante upon pouring, the purple bubbles dissipating quickly. A whiff reveals fragrant, ripe cherries and concord grapes. The palate is soft and round, full of fresh fruit, a touch of earth and some tingly acidity. Complexity is not the issue here, as it might be with other Lambruscos. This is an extremely drinkable and food-friendly wine. A true bargain. — 9 months ago
