Sweet but very easy to drink. Will definitely buy again — 5 years ago
Best slightly chilled. Deep ruby color. Very fruity nose, almost like jam. Very intense flavor, fruit initially on the palate, fully body, very smooth finish hint of vanilla and spice. High alcohol (abv 15.5%). Trader Joe's $25-27. Would love to have most nights, cold or warm season. — 6 years ago
Dark fruit, blackcurrant, mint, red fruit jam — 5 months ago
Deep ruby in color, almost purple; cassis, black cherries, and cedar on the nose; high acidity; high tannins; tastes like black plums, berry jam, and baking spices with a medium finish. Nellie says it's ok, and I like it. We both think it goes well with a steak. — 2 years ago

Smoothest Chardonnay I’ve ever had! Enjoyed on August 11, 2025 — 9 months ago
Last time I had a Tensley Colson Syrah was about two years ago and it was the 2016. As a youngster, it was a purple fruit, bombastic, hedonistic monster. Tasting this 2012 with some age to it, I’m somewhat shocked it could channel the profile I experienced…as in, when it shed the baby fat, there is a distinct and rich mid palate here without going flabby.
Some bricking is taking place here as the wine pours a dark red with some fading around the rim. Aromatics of grilled dark plum, black currant, black tea and herbs with sweet cherry jerky. The palate is dense and rich with very little acidity, and an integrated finish with not much tannin. Balsamic drizzled black cherries dominate the palate here along with chewing tobacco leaves and muddled red and black fruits. Followed over two days and it stayed consistent. This isn’t getting any better, so drink up. — 5 years ago
