This has all the hallmarks of a quality zinfandel, down to the jammy red fruits and pepperish nose. What sets it apart is the first notes I smelled when I stuck my nose in the glass: gorgeous red and purple flowers that offer grace and beauty to an otherwise behemoth of a wine. At 15.9% abv this wine drinks even higher, if you can believe that. Drink with food, but enjoy regardless.

I don't always drink Zin, but when I do it's awesome.

Jammy jam jam. A little pepper. Smooth. Good with my lamb curry.

Definitely needs to breathe a bit before drinking. Color is a deep ruby. Lots of black fruit, dried cranberries, medicinal, tobacco, and cedar. Alcohol is slightly hot when first opened. Tingled my nose. Tannins are medium, wine is full-bodied. Unusual bottle label. Not really my style wine, though. Too much power and not enough subtle.

Sweet floral and herbal aromas, supple tannin structure, and a chalky citrus rind finish.
