Cinnamon vanilla. No tannins left but yummy. — 4 years ago
En-magnum and opened for my baby boy’s first birthday, this Becker was a hit with the crowd. I thought it could have been better though. Frankly, this had a little more petrol note than I’d like, but it still showed excellent energy. Earthy, salty, powerful, and laser-sharp. Hope to try a better sample down the line. — 4 months ago
Exquisite. Quince and honeysuckle. Paired exquisite with gruyere fritters. — 3 years ago
From Domestique 2014 on 5/2/20. Dry, no effervescence. — 4 years ago
fortunately recently found a small supply for $55/b, less than release price, and it’s even more delicious due to that price. Just scrumptious crunchy bright yellow orchard fruit and citrus, not at all oxidative or yeasty, just lovely, fresh, and delicious. This is real bright and fresh. The 2011 wasn’t at this level, 96 was/is stupendous, and I’m hooked. I don’t know who Angeline is but I love her very much. — 2 years ago
1994 Screaming Eagle. Dinner w J&L B and D&M H while staying with D&M in Santa Ynez. Opened and waited about an hour. Decanted right before serving. Tons of jammy dark fruit. Opened more in the glass. JB mentioned full palate and balance. Great finish. Preferred this to ‘91 Dominus once this opened up. — 4 years ago

Compared to the last Becker dry Spatlese tasted, this was less inviting: a bit more mineral & stony, with none of the fruit flavors associated with Riesling to be found. Very chiseled & imagine needs time in bottle/ long decant. You can still taste the precision though. — a month ago
