Big 18 sunshine nose. Violets, mulch and spice. Some nice sweet wood as well. But just enormous spice. Very Fruh. Palate is so elegant and full of violets and wonderful inner mouth florals. Really nice opulent texture and just floats. Let’s see what air does. After air this gets more linear and gains edge and energy. Really different now than when it was p and p. — 2 years ago

Nose has yellow apple peel, pear slice, straw and beach sand.

Palate has tangerine zest, ripe pear, under-ripe yellow peach, cold clementine orange with medium acidity and slightly dry finish.
A nice bottle; not sure if this wants more time, or a couple years past prime...

On the sold out (18K+ patrons) Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Our guest Conductor Ken-David Masur is leading a 90th birthday celebration of John Williams. BSO soloists tonight are J. Williams Hudgins (vibraphone) & Jessica Zhou (harp), joined by Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Branford Marsalis (saxophone), Eric Revis (bass) and James Taylor (vocals/guitar). A truly wonderful night lay ahead, and my money is certainly on hearing at least one or two Star Wars movements this evening... — 4 years ago

this P-J Granite, a special NV first time bottling, was spectacular. Creamy layered with deep, deep rich flavors and very quiet mousse. Partial ML fermentation, mostly Chardonnay, from a dozen vintages, such a lovely wine. — 3 years ago

P&J don’t miss. Verdelho, skin contact so it’s got this amazing orange colour. Beautiful drink, needed decanting, sulphuric smell came through but once decanted. Nothing but delish. — 4 years ago

Elegant P-F but yet another one that J found fuller bodied and I found thin, plus that vaguely antiseptic nose and edge on the backend that I get from a lot of these...well short of the Vergelesses a few weeks ago....but then it is a P-F.
