Cepparello Toscana Sangiovese 2014

Rock solid after a little bit of airtime. Incredibly smooth with classic Sangiovese fruit and finesse. Great wine — 4 days ago

Cantine Colosi

Malvasia delle Lipari Passito di Salina 2009

Cantine Colosi Malvasia Delle Lipari Passito Di Salina 2009: Grown on the island of Salina, off the coast of Sicily (part of the volcanic Aeolian Islands or Isole Eolie), this wine presents a milder sweetness than I am used to. Strong honey aromas dominate the nose however the warm orange & nectar flavors soothe the palate and bring a familiar smile to my face. Mild hints of apricot & fig appear on other sips as I finish the glass and tasting experience. Overall, a good dessert wine to end any evening. Have a great week! Cheers🍷 — 8 months ago

Collezione Privata Toscana IGT Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Okay, too early really but still very tasty. Mid weight Super Tuscan with nice savory notes and avoiding the super-ripe profile of many STs. — 6 days ago

Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Trebbiano-Malvasia Blend 2008

The final wine at the Downs Club Super Tuscan Dinner from Half Bottles. Semi dried grapes using Malvasia and Trebbiano. A rich burnished copper colour - Sherry notes on the nose with honeycomb on the palate. Interesting and different. — 6 months ago

Isole e Olena

Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2014

Lovely medium ruby with just a fringe of orange. Cherry nose with prominent herbal and leather notes. Bright acidity and dusty tannins backing dark cherry and leather midpalate. Can’t say the finish was outstanding, and the acidity is a touch out of balance, but overall a classic Chianti Classico. This bottle will continue to age, soften, and mature, and should be more than drinkable for many years. — 17 hours ago

Gran Selezione Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2013

No. 3 wine at the Downs Club Super Tuscan Dinner. No detailed notes. A Cabernet, Syrah and Sangiovese blend. An oxidative note on the nose which was persistent and off-putting. Expensive at $400 per bottle. — 6 months ago

Domaine Jean Chauvenet

Nuits-Saint-Georges Pinot Noir 2015

Post-Bemis Art Auction. I found this to be quite enjoyable but also pretty simple. Red fruit with some dried herb like qualities...but that’s about it. QPR isn’t so great. The 2015 Isole e Olena CC served after crushed it for half the price. — 2 years ago
