Road tar, smoked black fruits, green olive, and loads of meaty, gamey notes emerge from the 2016 Northern Blend, which is 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier that was co-fermented and aged in used barrels. This big, sexy, exotic effort just screams Syrah and is full-bodied, has terrific depth of fruit, polished tannins, and just overflowing amounts of character and charm. Drink it any time over the coming decade or so.
Jebs review, can’t disagree. Great for $30.00 — a day ago
Massive as always with Orin Swifts wines and definitely needs a decant. Decanted for about 45 minutes. Tasted after initially opening and it is a bull in a China shop. Calmed down after the decant, black fruits vanilla licorice and some herbal flavors on the palate. Very good! — 2 days ago
This is now a vintage red table wine, the “non-vintage” and “proprietary” elements in the label are gone. This was the only Arizona wine available at the local Trader Joe’s, so relatively cheap. But how does it rate? Brick red, light to moderate pigment extraction. Cherry and black currant notes in nose. Soft, ripe red fruit flavors, primarily cherry and raspberry, slightly tart finish. Later, strawberry jam and plum flavors emerge. Not bad for a basic red table wine, great value. A good reminder here: You never go wrong drinking local. — a day ago
Snow White frosting over vodka-cran colored beer with cirrus drifts. Cartoon stubble lacing. Raspberry, blackberry, grape-y with blood orange, dried orange, red grapefruit, hibiscus and citrus crowd. Lovely entry, reminiscent of bandol rose, with a suggestion of pink lemonade, bay, orange pith, lemongrass, and cardamom. Dry and satisfying in all respects. Carrots and cran-mint come to mind. Festive and bright!! #dogfishhead #dogfishheadbrewing #dogfishheadsixtyone #beer #bier #biere #birra #ale #ipa #syrahipa #continuallyhopped #hops — 14 hours ago
Muddy, ruddied and cloudy with an active head bubbling up from the belly. Fine pate for a barley; tall and well informed. Raisin, brown sugar and date commingle with brown banana and baked peach smells, fruitcake-box, nepenthe, and fig. The palate is chocolate and mocha with creamy coffee turning clove and nutmeg, dark brown sugar swirled with treacle, cinnamon, touches of candied mint ginger and maple sugar. #barleywine #freestate #freestatebrewing #lfk #lawrencekansas #oldbackus #oldbackusbarleywineale #ale #beer #bier #biere #birra #abv #2016beer #KSbeer

The is uniquely a non-vintage Cuvée Amor. I have it on pretty good word that when Charles Hendricks (Winemaker for both Hope & Grace & his own Hendricks label) doesn’t make his Hendricks Cabernet, this is the wine that the Hendricks fruit goes into. @Paul T- Huntington Beach @Eric Shanks

The body is; ripe, rich and full. The tannins are round, velvety, chewy & slightly tarry. The structure, tension, length and balance is just hitting its stride to peak form. Nose has dried raspberry, fresh raspberry, orange peel, watermelon rind, (light) savory green herbs and (light) candle wax.
Palate has dried strawberry, dried orange zest, red currant juice, rose petals and dry soil.
It's always a treat to drink rosé away from current release, the flavors change slightly and the acidity generally mellows; This is how we really enjoy them, just need patience.
2016 Blend: 49% Grenache, 19% Grenache Blanc, 13% Mourvedre, 12% Carignane, 4% Cinsault & 3% Rousanne.
24 Hour Update: Palate has picked up an awesome, and zingy, ripe strawberry note, like really good! — 4 days ago
The 2005 ‘To The Rescue’ Grenache is a thrilling, highly novel new world dessert wine that is amongst the best of its kind that I have sampled. Aromatically, the wine immediately unveils copious red rose petals and menthol tones that combine with the intense red fruits and blood orange zest accents that all take their shape in the glass. Viscous and vibrant, with marvelous length, suggestions of red raspberry cordial, pipe tobacco and red cherry candy all thrive together on the mouth. The tension that runs through the core of the wine really impresses here. Fantastic now, this exemplary dessert wine will provide drinking enjoyment for at least another ten years. November’s 4th Friday was a big hit. There is no way I’ll be able to upload all the wines, nor give them the reviews they deserve, but there were a few worthy of mentioning!
The best Mourvèdre I’ve ever had. Spell binding stuff. Seductive like aromatics of sweet and gummy blue and black fruits wrapped in clove and sandalwood. Lighter on the palate than Andremily’s Syrah. Crunchy blueberries, puréed blackberries, sweet smoke, baking spices and graphite. Can only imagine how good this will be in a few years. Thanks @Keith Fisher — 9 days ago

Pure, white grapefruit juice color, with whipped-to-peaks egg white top that sticks for sheet lacing of anatomical figure silhouettes. Bright orange, sweet grapefruit and peach blossom scents. Magnolia, jasmine and daisy perfumes. Perfectly balanced mouthfeel delivers grapefruit-creamsicle with bits of lemon peel in a marmalade pudding entry. This beauty turns on lime and juicy grapefruit with a dash of white pepper, lemon oil, tangerine, and an awesome burst of vivacious and near-effervescent lemon tart and grapefruit soda. Ultimately holds true to beer with notes of barley, touch of malt, hop textures, lemongrass and fresh oregano. Really sexy ipa here, might improve with a little bottle rest too! Will revisit, if still available. #parishbrewing #parishbrewingco #ghostinthemachine #ghostinthemachinedipa #Labeer #beer #biere #birra #bier #ale #paleale #dankbeer #indiapaleale #ipa #dipa #doubleipa #broussardla #hops #abv — 18 days ago
