My second vineyard of Cruse sparkling Valdiguie and it’s good but it’s definitely the less interesting of the two. Where Deming was a pretty hazy white strawberry, Rancho Chimiles is more upfront - visuals and flavors of bright Jolly Rancher watermelon and pink strawberry starburst. A little overpriced at $35.

2019 NV. Super interesting stuff. Finesse and complexity of well made traditional method but completely distinct in style. Traditional citrus is mixed with slightly oxidative honey and tree sap, with a grippy, refreshing phenolic touch and an orange bitters complexity on the palate. Autolytic profile is not front and center, supports the forest-like freshness. Dosage is zero but you wouldn’t guess it, it’s in balance, not just trendy — 5 months ago
Pretty good for a $16 sparkling wine purchased at a good co-op! — 4 years ago
