Among the best to come from Villa Antinori, Solaria is exceptional. Dense, dark fruit that is drinking well at 11 years but will continue to be enjoyed for 20 years. Benefits from an hours or so decant . Lovely chewy juice. Hubba hubba! — 2 years ago
Definitely needs more time in bottle. Not sure this will save the rep of Merlot in the worlds eyes — 3 years ago
Who would have thunk it - a Sangiovese rose? What a delight. Light but nonetheless bold. — 6 years ago

A terrific wine from Riley Hubbard (assistant winemaker at Desperada who now has her own label). Great delineation on the palate enveloped by nice fruit, this wine has a beautiful profile in terms of its fruit/acidity balance. The finish is a bit clipped, but I suspect these edges will round out with some time in bottle. This is an unpolished gem in Paso: try it for yourselves!!! — 8 years ago

The great Monopole from Buffet. In some years this is neck and neck with Clos des Chenes and Taillpieds. Gorgeous nose of dried and wet leaves, deep cherry, some oolong tea, Really compelling fruit on the nose. Such clear cherry, cherry bubblegum which is so typical of Rougeotte and stunning florals. Nose is so layered and complex. Gorgeous. What a palate. That classic chord progression again if sour/mid-season and late season cherry along with unreal sweetness. The sour-sweet cherry combo in 23 is the Buffet signature. Really well worked velvety tannins and exceptional freshness and acidity. Terrific inner mouth aromas and such purity. Extremely complex already and such suave texture despite there being girth and structure as is par for the course of Rougeotte. This needs to open but I think once it does it will be equal to or surpass the Champans. Let’s see. The nose now is more feral, but sweet feral. Big cherry but the chord effect and a bit of a maceration effect. Then that Rougeotte Hubba Bubba thing. Wow this is so good. So shockingly intense like you stuck a fork in an outlet. This is better than the Champans. This has gotten so suave and explosive now. Unreal texture and sweetness plus the finish and attack just explode onto onto the palate. Nose is feral today in the best way possible. Gorgeous, sensual minerals and earth .Wow the fruit is insane. So sweet, still explosive and such insane acidity and length. Just stunning. — a year ago

Hubba hubba. What mouthfeel! So textural and zingy. My goodness this was the perfect aperitif. Could age well if you could keep your hands off them. Excellent. — 8 years ago
Wow! Another surprise from Hubba. So good with homemade pasta — a year ago
Brick rim and super pale transparent salmon color. Some pink and purple floral aromatics on the nose, a little funk but not overpowering or off putting whatsoever.
Great acidity, balanced alcohol, very smooth and light tannin that linger to deliver a peppery finish. Overall complex and delicate on the palate with amarena cherry flavor and some artificial pink candy like hubba bubba or cotton candy saltwater taffy. Really desirable minerality similar to the whites I’ve tried from this region. i don’t think you need to chill this before drinking. Would definitely recommend and I’d buy it again for $20 in that 90-92 range for me. — 2 years ago
A real masterpiece. Totally natural and unfiltered. — 4 years ago

Any dust from Africa yet?

Really solid offering from Beaune. Still a hint tight but nothing a long decant will not solve. Nice acidity and hint of cherry showing through what I believe to be oak. Hubba! — 7 years ago
Hubba Hubba. This is bonkers. The latest small production Pinot star from Fass Selections. Incredible brambly berry fruit. Spice. Forest floor. Wow. Licorice. Cola. So pungent yet refined. So juicy and crunchy with amazing freshness and such depth. What fruit and purity. This is insane. There is a freshness and balance along with a killer finish that is only reserved for the best. Stupendous wine! — 8 years ago

Is it okay to say this sparkler has a great underlying flavour of grape hubba bubba? Anyway, great wine. — 4 months ago
