I decided to revisit a bottle that was the winner of our horizontal tasting of MSD 2016 village (10 producers tasted blind by 10 participants). And once again this is a hit for a village. Started out very farmy and rustic. After an hour had beautiful cherry, raspberry, medium tannins, could taste and smell the whole cluster as there was slight tomato and green herbaceous notes. — 7 years ago

2017 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 45 minutes. Medium body. Full, rich flavors up front. Those thin out mid and end palates as the wine is transitioning from the teen years to early adulthood. Regardless, drinking beautifully now. 4.30.26. — 2 months ago

Still a very robust wine. Not in the least past its prime. There’s a lot of fruit left, but there’s also a lot of oak., even after 26 years. This has dried out the wine a little bit. Don’t make too much out of my criticism. The wine is very enjoyable, so the bottle was finished without any complaints from my friends at the table.
