WOW! beautiful nose that is hard to give up in favor of a taste!! Tobacco, tar, charchol and very dark fruit. This wine has a lot of life in the cellar. — 2 years ago

2015 / silky, smooth, velvetty texture, combined with good acidity. Fruit was more on the background, but a good combination with pasta+black truffle — 3 months ago
One of the best wines and Cabernets in the tasting. Made by Sam Kaplan. 95-97 with 10 years of proper cellaring.
It is blended from the following sites; Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard, Vine Hill Ranch Vineyard, Weitz Vineyard, and Oakville Ranch Vineyard. Not inexpensive $300.
The name, Memento Mori, is taken from an ancient Latin philosophy that reminds us of our mortality and the inevitability of death. So, forgo patience, I guess?

Stunningly good and a bit underrated on this app. I snagged 3 bottles from MCF Rare Wine since this will no longer be distributed in NYC :( Very Chianti Classico and very rich on the nose. Dark fruits transition to bright, juicy, ripe cherry. Minerals and dried herbs on a veeerrry long finish. Really delicious and an honest, no fuss expression of Sangiovese. 14% abv, organic. I’ll have to resist opening the last 2 bottles. — 4 months ago
Sophisticated bouquet! Oak and dark fruit with plentiful tannins. Superb wine that probably benefits from another 5-10 years in the cellar. My rating is on promise! — 2 years ago
The Riserva.
Very tasty.
Good brick red color, good nose, balanced palate. — 2 years ago
Unusual to be drinking a wine this young. Decanted 45min to begin. Nose somewhat muted, though dark fruit and oak are there. Inky purple. Great ripe black and blue fruit. Could still use more time in the air to blend together, but the minerality and earthiness is definitely there to match the fruit. Nice med-long finish. Decanting 2+ hours recommended. — 5 years ago

Kaze no Mori (“Wind in the Forest”)
• Brewery: Yucho Shuzo, Nara
• Style: Nama (unpasteurized), often Junmai or Junmai Ginjo
• Profile: Kaze no Mori is famous for being zippy, effervescent, and youthful. Expect a lightly sparkling sensation (微発泡), juicy fruit (pear, muscat grape), and bright acidity. Always unpasteurized, so it shows a raw, lively character. Was pretty sweet for me but a nice sake. — 2 months ago
