Easy to drink wine. Intense wood and tobacco on the nose. A little sour on the aftertaste but not bad. — a day ago

Opened my first bottle of this child's birth year wine at 10 years old.
Surprisingly dark, purple color. Nose is pretty classic with herb and hummus tinged plum fruit. The texture here was the high point for me, fine, powdery and yet still engaging tannins that seem to point to additional aging potential.
Not super complex but very good.

Riserva Barrosu Cannonau di Sardegna Cannonau 2017

Best Grenache outside Chateaneuf? I'd say this has a leg up on Comando G stuff as there is a but more depth but silky and fine, suoe long and light as a feather on the palate. Tiny producer...very hard to find. Alcohol is perfectly integrated, at 15.5 you'd never know! — a month ago

Terre di Gioia

Trentino Marzemino 2014

Lots of history to this varietal from this place. It’s not a very common grape. And it’s name checked in the Shakespeare opera ‘Don Giovanni’. Says so on the label. Dark colored grape makes a dark colored wine. Almost black. It’s supposed to smell like violets according to my research. Not sure I know the smell of violets enough to place that. I’d say berry cobbler. And maybe blood orange. Mushrooms? Flavors are dry, simple and elegant. Reminds me of some good Southern Italian stuff I’ve had. Plenty tart. Lower alcohol at 12.5%. This is interesting and strange stuff. Thanks Grocery Outlet for bringing stuff like this to the masses. — 20 days ago
