Works great with pizza, spicy Italian sausage, and grilled steak. — 20 days ago
Ideal Chianti. Dry and pairs well with food, but also fruity enough to enjoy on it’s own. Notes of cola, cherry, and some vanilla. — 4 months ago
St. Giorgio – Chianti Classico Riserva 2019
Tuscany, Italy 🇮🇹 – DOCG
Overview
Made predominantly from Sangiovese, this Chianti Classico Riserva reflects Tuscany’s classic profile with its red-fruit core, oak aging, and elegant structure. The Riserva designation ensures extended aging (at least 24 months), which adds depth and polish to the wine.
Aromas & Flavors
Plenty of ripe red fruits — cherries, raspberries, and strawberries — framed by subtle vanilla, toasted oak, and a hint of spice. A light herbal edge ties it back to its Tuscan roots.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with balanced acidity, lightly firm tannins, and a smooth flow through the finish. The oak adds just enough roundness without overpowering the freshness of the fruit.
Food Pairing
Perfect alongside Tuscan classics like bistecca alla fiorentina, pappardelle with wild boar ragu, or aged pecorino. It also pairs nicely with grilled pork chops or tomato-based pasta dishes.
The Verdict
A polished, versatile Chianti Classico Riserva that balances fruit, oak, and structure with finesse. Enjoyable now for its supple fruit and texture, but it also has a few more years of life in the cellar. Cheers! — 14 days ago
Revelatory Montepulciano with Italian essence but Bordeaux character. Medium bodied with earthy fruit and restrained tannins, combined with notes of leather and cedar box and a hint of soy sauce. Mouthwatering food wine; the 2013 vintage is definitely ready to enjoy now. First glass was at Mother Wolf in LA (date night with Dreama) and most recently a bottle at home with my own beef stroganoff on a Sunday night. What a way to top off the weekend! — 5 months ago
Pooneet K
Never had anything from Pelissero before but it was barbaresco from a year I like and under $200 on the wine list at Torrisi (which was fabulous). Wine itself disappointed a bit. Quite a bit darker fruited and in color than barbaresco I’m used to. Less acid too. Still nice and recognizable as the grape but left a bit to be desired. — 19 hours ago
