Morgaenlee Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2024

Pale lemon in color.

Fruity nose and medium in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing limes, green apples, gooseberries, spices, light grapefruits, herbs and light earth.

Tangy finish with limes and almonds.

This is a very tasty Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Yountville in Napa Valley. Rich and fruit forward. Crisp and refreshing. Nicely balanced, tangy and engaging.

I've had a few vintages of this wine, and so far the 2022 vintage was my favorite.

Good right out of the bottle, and good by itself as a sipping wine. A good pool wine too.

100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes were aged in neutral French oak barrels for 9 months on the lees.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

Estate Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a delicious one.

Dark ruby in color with a reddish rim.

Pretty nose of blackberries, black currants, black plums, cedar, licorice, vanilla, chocolates, herbs, eucalyptus, light spices and black pepper.

Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate and fruit forward with blackberries, plums, currants, cedar, licorice, peppercorn, coffee, cola, light vanilla, tobacco, herbs and light earth.

Long finish with fine grained tannins, red chili pepper and tangy cherries.

This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville is already drinking beautifully. Nicely balanced, complex and engaging. Elegant, tangy and rich. Soft and smooth.

Delicious right out of the bottle, easy to drink, and very approachable. As it opens up, more earth notes show up.

Showing a great nose. Spicy and entertaining.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years, and showing good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent, and so much better with age.

A great sipping wine that paired nicely with my Leg of Lamb dish.

A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot. Aged for 24 months in (60% new) French Oak barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

At Mark Paul NYD Party old Cab series. Continuing with old Cab series. Equally surprising as the McDowell but a totally different profile, with more oxidative notes as expected for such an age and with rounder texture and shorter finish — 6 months ago

So delicious! High end but it was on sale so I tried it and then snagged a few more! If you haven’t tried out of Sonoma County, you really should. It surprised me! — 6 years ago

Probably about at the end of this 2009 unless you super carefully store it. But it's very interesting, Dark toffee, caramel, kind of Madeira type notes. — 3 months ago

Nova 7 Annapolis Valley White Blend 2024

Colour is very pale with just the lightest hint of coral pink. It’s off-dry with lots of ripe tropical fruits on the noise and palate - cantaloupe, peach, and a hint of floral. It’s a very interesting blend of grapes. — 5 months ago

Nice to see this come in under 15%. It takes thoughtfulness and care to do that amid climate change, and is particularly admirable in Napa, where wineries could easily grub up low-profit Zin vines, replace them with Cab and charge higher $$.
