Not overly oxidative, yet intensely colored, layered, and sturdy. Went head-to-head with the best, fatty, bacon-like, toro of my life!

Friuli Grave Cabernet Franc

Typical Cab Franc bell pepper notes along with tobacco, dark cherry, plum, toffee, cranberry, and oak. Bright and tart with lots of fruit, but also buttery smooth. Medium tannins, medium alcohol, and medium plus to high acid. Should be a good match with tomato based sauces, but also a nice sipper for medium cheese and sliced meats. — 15 hours ago

Colli Orientali Friuli Pinot Grigio 2017

Summer of Italian Whites. Another great example of an Italian white wine value from a well known producer. Primary aromas of lemon candy, ripe white peach, yellow pear, river stones, honeysuckle and tarragon. Pallet is white peach, lemon and slivered almond with an oily, creamy texture. This has more body and complexity than cheaper Pinot Grigios, but the finish was a little short for my liking. Still recommended for its QPR.
