My first wine I’ve ever tasted from Moldova. Jancis Robinson reviewed it in Financial Times January 27 2023. Tasting and decanting now… purple, ver good clarity. Aromas of leather (wood) and strawberry, flavors of strawberry and cherry with wood, light to moderate seed and skin tannins on finish. Light bodied but solid tannin structure. Needs 45-60 minutes to decant. — 15 hours ago

This was impressive - scored on closeout for $16: jet black, absolutely no signs of age, soaring aromas just oozing black fruit, licorice, bittersweet chocolate, exotic spice, dash of white pepper, and so much more. I know this producer as making wine in cooler climates, but this didn’t have that hi-toned fruit I was hoping for… huge extraction, massive & mouth filling, this was not so much chewy as just densely flavored with long life ahead. — a month ago
