Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir 2008

2008 from this iconic vineyard doesn’t disappoint. Soil, nose, finesse creates a complete experience. Grateful I found this in a corner of storage. A classic. — 3 months ago

St Innocent Winery

Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

I love the character of this vintage. Leaner and more focused than the 2014, which is also a remarkable wine. Violets, wild raspberry, black truffle, vanilla, star anise and a hint of dark chocolate. Excellent staying power with forceful but not blunt or overbearing tannins. Broad mouthfeel, yet buoyant acidity. Very, very delicious and expressive. — 2 months ago

Atalier Rías Baixas Albariño

Unquestionably great, but a Burgundian architecture may not be the answer for high-end Albariño. Very high mineral definition combined with wood aging makes it bottom heavy even with lively aroma and bright acidity. The mid-range lacks transparency and presence, but only in comparison with magnificent highs and lows. The winemaker's mastery is bit too much in evidence instead of the terroir. Too much control and not enough freedom. Maybe little too refined and sophisticated on the surface, even though it does have soul. — 4 months ago

Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Blanc 2017

Popped and poured. Absolutely delicious bottle of PB that surprised and thrilled. Gorgeous color of honey-yellow that wowed with aromas of white peach, apricot, and pear. Palate was laced with an unmistakable minerality that gave structure to the exquisitely textured ripe fruit. To be honest, didn't know a domestic PB could be this complex and taste this good. 93pts. — a month ago

Solid. Rich, ripe. Lacking some complexity. Still, pretty good. — 4 months ago

The 1843 Freedom Barossa Valley Shiraz 2015

Back to the Outstanding category at the Langtons tasting. Langmeil claim to have the oldest vines in Australia planted in 1843 by Christian Auricht. A wonderful Barossa Shiraz. No detailed notes. So many wines to taste - so little time. — 8 months ago
