Finger Lakes Semi-Dry Riesling 2023

Ron R
9.2

Impressive for its focus and presentation. Green Apple and grapefruit on the nose and palate. Clean and laser-focused with lychee on the back end. Super summer’s day sipper. Tilting sweet. First time trying this producer. Was not aware that NY was producing wines of this quality. — 10 days ago

We did a road trip to the Finger Lakes in 2022. Real nice Reisling & Cab Franc. There’s also some beautiful hiking.

@Vin d’Ottawa, thanks and appreciate the insights. Clearly, we have to travel there, too.

Munjebel Terre Siciliane Bianco Carricante Blend 2018

2018, opened in 2025. Delicious, golden almost orange hue, fresh fruits and citrus nose, balanced tannins and acidity, Etna crushed stone, juicy and super easily drinkable, yet still complex and interesting. — a month ago

Munjebel CS (Chiusa Spagnolo) Nerello Mascalese 2020

Excellent Etna. So fun exploring a region and its different producers. This had more dark chocolate smokiness than Russo. Both excellent examples — 24 days ago

Finger Lakes Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Elegant not heavy. Good black fruits. Mineral backbone — 12 days ago

Munjebel MC (Monte Colla) Nerello Mascalese 2020

Probably the most structured and darkest munjebel due to the higher clay content of the soil. Missing some acidity, dark red fruit, spices and earthy tones. A bit flabby and heady. Missing the grip of the other munjebels. — 2 months ago

Brut Finger Lakes Chardonnay Blend 2021

From the best sparkling wine producer in the finger lakes. Lemon zest on the yeasty brioche. Quite dry. — 20 minutes ago

Patriarch Winston Hill Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Probably WOTN although I think the Abreu is a better wine. This one just went better with the food as opposed to the Abreu which should have been decanted and had on its own. — 22 days ago
