The 5 years of age have either barely made a dent, or this is drinking beautifully now ( or both): start with the thick yet smooth mouthfeel-if Chenin is sometimes described as cotton wool, this is more like cashmere-& also enough acidity to keep it refreshing. Layers of Chenin style fruit: Granny Smith apple, white flowers, Acadia honey. Just a rock star wine, plays brash compared to Huet’s stateliness. And for about 10$ less, a relative steal.. — 8 days ago
Nice mineral Chardonnay, green plants and sage, refreshing and full taste. Obviously will buy another bottle on the next occasion. — 14 days ago
Have not had in a while any serious 2018. Time to check in. Nose is gorgeous mid season cherries, elegant florals, subtle minerality. It’s holding back as 2018 just has so much material. But what is there is terrific. Palate is fantastic. Gorgeous, elegant and sappy fruit. Excellent sweetness and purity. Dark red cherry and mid season cherries and brilliant elegant tannins. Fantastic. Still delicate as this site tends to be but has the power of 18 as well. Huge concentration and sap. Dense yet delicate. So young but so fantastic. Awesome fruit soak and inner mouth aromas. Love the character of 18 and once it matures I think it’s going to be epic. — 4 days ago
Medium gold color. Heavy weight. Exotic nose. Notes of citrus, beeswax, spice and some honey. High pitched. Nice fruit and texture in the mouth. Paired well with some spice Thai food my wife made. I would call this at peak and would not wait much longer on these. — 16 days ago
Nose has lemon wedge, crushed flint, cold toast, warmed butter, undistinguished bruised green herbs and a bag of fresh lemons.
Palate has lemon juiced on sandstone, white grapefruit zest, lightly acid-creamy finish is quite interesting and fun, almost like a vinaigrette with great olive oil, fatty-acid mouthfeel combination.
I'll suggest this wine should be really nice in 2-4Y, 2024-26.
