Full-bodied Chablis (Chardonnay), with smooth finish, served with cheese board, at Petit Robert Bistro, South Boston — 2 months ago
2014 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 2 hours at approx 62 degrees. Medium-medium heavy body. Plenty of honey/mead texture and flavors along with golden, slightly overripe apple + a little finishing spice flourish. Decent acidity at that temp and wanted to chill some down to the mid-50's to reevaluate but ran out of road. Better luck next time. 05.30.25. — 9 days ago
Not as deliberately oxidative, but still too oxidative to be Chablis. — 17 days ago
2019 vintage. Tasted after 2 hours open. Medium body. Big lanolin and prominent acidity with some pineapple and guava notes open for business. Lemon curd rolling through like it owns the place (perhaps it do). Easy 7-8 years Smokey Robinson cruising together based on remaining acidity. Approx .5-1 year away from the top of the bell curve. 04.26.25. — a month ago
Bon champagne, plein de bulles fines, goût équilibré entre sec et sucré. — 2 months ago
“Les Lys” is one of the eight climats within Vaillons but it’s peculiar in terms of its exposure and the soil contains a bit more clay. The wines are equally unique expressions and typically long lived. This bottle is no exception.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a hour. The 2010 “Les Lys” pours a bright yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with explosive notes of tart and ripe orchard and tropical fruits: green apple, starfruit, passion fruit; a mixed bag of citrus with lemon, lime and even some tangerine. There’s white flowers, a whiff of brioche and racy minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. It has been a few years since I last had the 2010 and it’s no less stunning. Drink now through 2035+ — 2 days ago

This was a by-the-glass favorite at the Loire property where we stayed. Biodynamic Pinot d’Aunis. Lots of wild red berries complicated by earthy, peppery and floral tones — 2 months ago

I mistakenly selected this bottle of the Moelleux rather than the Sec version of Clos de la Coulée de Serrant. And I gotta be honest, I didn’t even know this wine existed. Oh well, I can’t feel too bad about it, lol!Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2022 “Moelleux” pours a golden color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with heady notes of ripe orchard fruit: Gala apple, lemon drop, citrus tree flowers, lanolin and mild eastern spices. On the palate, the wine is off-dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose where the flowers took on more of a honeysuckle character. The finish is long and the texture is wooly and substantial. Not nearly as sweet as I was expecting from a Moelleux and actually comes across more Demi-Sec; a very pleasant surprise since it was picked by mistake anyway! This is better as it warms up and receives air. Can drink now with patience but better after 2032 and through 2052. — a day ago
