Domaine du Vieux Château Vieilles Vignes Chablis Chardonnay

This does not drink like Chablis. The 2010 vintage really shows through here. Aroma is fresh heavily extracted sweet passion fruit with nuances of melon, citrus, and honey. Pallet has a little more what you expect in terms of weight, but still extremely tropical. Historic and amazing producer.

Very much a bone dry Chardonnay with nice minerality and flower hints on the finish. Just need October Quivet Neck Oysters and life would be even better. Delicious.

Deep yellow, with a big ass burger. Lemon, kinda thin and not super interesting. Pretty one dimensional.

2010. Lobster fest, ad nauseum...

I think this is in an in between kinda zone. It's plush, with fading tropicality and a hint of Chablis.

The kind of wine I wish I had ordered at a restaurant, so I could send it back! No, it's not that bad, but this batch from Flatiron has been kind of a dud. This guy was like pineapple juice on opening, and isn't showing me much in the way of Chablis typicity. If it's oxidized, it's not in the same way I'm used to

Can taste a bit of grand cru, med body, good balance of acidity.

Granny Smith apples, honeysuckle, chalk, lemon zest, acacia, quince. Snappy yet rounded acidity, lush smooth texture, medium bodied, long mineral driven-citrus-crispy finish. On the richer scale of Chablis.
