Having a great wine day!
This was fantastic! 1hr+ decant and could use more. Probably close to optimal drinking age. Phenomenal nose of oak, graphite, cedar, and tar. Wine has medium plus depth and is well integrated. Vanilla, blackberries, oak, and earth on the palate. Medium plus finish. Wine is a little over oaked and could use more fruit. Great regardless! Wish I could have had this blind against some top echelon Cabs and Bordeaux, as I think it would have been shocking! — 17 days ago
We love Chasse Spleen. And we love 95. Here the marriage is great. This bottle has shed its tannins and is very accessible and great drinking now. If you love classical claret go for it. If you are not familiar here’s a great place to start. Drink or hold. — 17 days ago
Fruit forward, tastes of apple and pear, very light pink color, Aix-ellent French rosé. — 3 days ago
What a color. So distinctive and ridiculously good. Cool climate fruit part of the spectrum, sour cherry, red plum and wild strawberry, blood orange, some blue and purple berries too, meeting with herbal stemmy whole cluster kind of stuff, flowers and game and chalk. Makes me wish I had a whole case but sadly only one bottle — 10 days ago
The 2019 Chardonnay is whole-bunch-pressed and 93% barrel-fermented with 27% new oak. It has a clean, crisp bouquet of citrus fruit infused with smoke and hazelnut aromas, quite understated in style. The palate is well balanced, taut and linear, displaying fine acidity and gaining depth toward the persistent, saline finish. This is a superb Chardonnay from Hamilton Russell. Excellent. Josh Morgenthau

Acquired in the Maucaillou tasting room in Bordeaux in 2008, then transported back to the states in a suitcase full of laundry, deposited in my cellar where it has remained until today.
Transparent and fresh. Almost pure ruby, showing only a smidge of bricking at the edges and not much age at all. Very pretty. Earthy nose of no. 2 pencil and old spices that gradually opens to red fruits. Maybe a cliche but this is on the Burgundian side of Bordeaux. So succulent; vibrating with red fruit and lively acids. — 10 days ago
