Sun striking the elixir, a rainbow of gold and straw in the glass.
Melon, limestone, and grapefruit rind in the nose.
Subtle, slight carbonation and an ease in drinkability.
Lemon zest, yellow zucchini, grapefruit, and the essence of Mandarin oranges balance for a pleasurable drinking experience. Great with 1000 day aged gouda and cuts the heat of mango habanero cheddar nicely. — 4 years ago

This estate was bought in 1988 buy Jean-Michel Cazes (Lynch Bages and more recently Haut-Batailley) and sold in 2017 to the Balland family (Baret). 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. Aged in used Lynch Bages barrels. This 2014 is in a very good place now, but should age well for a few more years. Fresh and elegant, with typical Graves spiciness. Not the most complex but a very solid and seductive effort for the vintage. — 4 years ago

The 4th wine in the degustation with Byron and Paulina. A 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay from the Loire Valley of all places. A great wine to serve blind to MW and MS students. I recall strawberry and red berry notes in general with quite fluid tannins. So easy to drink. I can’t recall the matching dish but it was a perfect match - duck was involved. — 9 months ago
