Emerald Coast Vineyards

Castello di Amorosa

North Coast Pinot Grigio 2020

Pale lemon in color with a green hue.

Fruity nose of citrus, lemons, apples, sweet grapefruits, light green vegetables, herbs and spices.

Medium-bodied with medium plus acidity. Nice and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with citrus, lemons, yellow apples, spices, light tropical fruits, white pepper and minerals.

Medium finish with limes and light grapefruits.

This is a very tasty Pinot Grigio from California. Easy drinking with nice balance.

Good by itself or with food, and will pair nicely with fresh green salads.

Tangy and fruit forward with a creamy mouthfeel.

A great party wine that I had by the pool with a great view.

13.7% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

Frank Family Vineyards

Reserve Carneros Pinot Noir 2019

Deep Ruby with aromas of Berry fruits with notes of herbs, citrus and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of strawberry and cherry, tea, vanilla and herb tones, well balanced with lively acidity. Fine soft tannins on a long lush finish ending with fruit, toasty oak and delicate herb floral character. Very nice! — 10 days ago

Sterling Vineyards

Limited Release North Coast Red Wine 2009

This vineyard has been a favorite of my parents for a long time. We were treated to this excellent bottle for Thanksgiving this year. Nicely structured tannins balanced with interesting flavors of dried fruit, Cocoa and, vanilla sugar. You wouldn’t think of pairing a heavier wine like this with Thanksgiving dinner, but it worked because it was so good. I’m glad Mom and Dad kept a few of these older bottles around. — 5 days ago

Loner Favonius Chardonnay

Not the W10, Better than expected, its the loner Favonius Mag, definitely a 2nd day wine. The pith & grapefruit really hit you on day one.

94The Wine Advocate
...expressive pink grapefruit, guava and pineapple notes, plus suggestions of baking bread, marzipan, ginger and honeycomb...medium-bodied palate...elegant and perfumed...nice creamy texture, with loads of tropical fruit and savory flavors, finishing with great length.

93Vinous / IWC
Super-ripe apricot, orchard fruit, yellow flowers and new oak all blossom in this creamy, super-expressive Chardonnay. Large-scaled and rich...

93Wine Enthusiast
...mandarin orange pith character and a warming sandalwood spice. It's very fresh...bright on the palate, with pink grapefruit, squeezed lemon and lime skin toward the finish.

92Jeb Dunnuck
...notes of crushed citrus, lemon curd, and orchard fruits, and is juicy, vibrant, and crisp on the palate...notable purity, and a great finish.

Akasha Willow Creek District Syrah 2012

Parkers review,

Wine Advocate | Rating: 96
The 2012 Akasha (which I had incorrectly listed as James Berry Vineyard in the past) is 100% Syrah from Scott's estate Torrin Vineyard. It offers sensational purity and depth in its black raspberry and cassis fruits, graphite, dried violets and crushed rock bouquet. This gives way to a full-bodied, voluptuous and seamless Syrah that has no hard edges, building tannin and a blockbuster finish. It's a heavenly Paso Robles Syrah that needs a year or so

Vinous | Rating: 93
Glass-staining purple. Powerful, deeply pitched aromas of blackcurrant, violet, licorice and woodsmoke, with a peppery topnote and a hint of sassafras. Sweet, smoky and broad on the palate, offering intense black and blue fruit flavors and a suave floral pastille flourish; showing a lot of upfront, fruit-driven sex appeal and no rough edges. Finishes very long, with outstanding clarity and supple tannins. - Josh Raynolds

North Coast Trousseau 2019

Funky lighter cranberry and gala apple juicy juice fruit box. Initially has a bit of cidery funk that levels out. Akin to third Thursday in November fun. — 3 days ago

Estate Vineyard Carneros Chardonnay 2015

Woo-eeee does this ever smell like California Chardonnay—I was worried my delicate sensibilities might take umbrage, but my senses adjusted (maybe I’ve just been drinking weakling wines) and on the palate this wine is less an overly enthusiastic suitor and much more a gentleman who actually reads—more beneath the surface than I expected based on smell and soon we were holding hands and I was flirtatiously fidgeting with my necklace, and and wondering if we’d kiss at the end of the bottle (probably don’t pick a mate that way though their smell when you meet them is kinda important methinks). Anyway, what did this wine (I’ve decided is Ryan Gosling type) have to say? A lot! But fortunately I don’t mind a wine with more to say than me. Butterscotch and yellow apple, and most intriguingly both up front and on the finish I get that gunflint-y smoky minerality I adore and it finishes with citrus peel, creme, and browned butter. Glad I gave it a chance. — 10 days ago

Broc Cellars

Eagle Point Ranch Counoise 2018

This reminds me of a Loire Gamay. Gobs of tangy berry fruit leaps out of the glass, with a bit of spice and lots of high-toned cracked stone (almost limestoney) minerality. It’s zingy and bright in the mouth, with lots of bright berries and a bit of spice. Fluid textured with little to no tannin, it’s got zingy acids and a cleansing finish. Very fun to drink. — 13 days ago
