Deep purple/ inky in color with a wide reddish rim.

Strong nose of red fruits with wild flowers, tobacco, licorice, light earth, herbs, black pepper, spices and milk chocolates.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with sweet raspberries, fresh cherries, pomegranates, light earth, tobacco leaf, spices, light herbs and peppercorn.

Long tangy finish with fine grained tannins and cranberries.

This 8 year old Petite Sirah from Colorado is drinking very nicely now. Complex and interesting, rich and fruit forward.

I had this vintage 6 years ago and it is drinking better now. Would be interesting to revisit it in a few years, but unfortunately this is my last bottle.

A very unique Petite Sirah that doesn't show like one from California at all. Tangy, spicy and engaging. The high alcohol is well integrated by now.

Uruguay, eh? And 5 years of bottle conditioning has given this blend a subtle Lemon Pledge odor (benzene aromas) and a nice, thick but not quite unctuous mouth feel. The 30% Chardonnay keeps it fresh and a little bit lively. Also some of those tropical fruit notes that I have picked out in Brazilian chardonnays.
Interesting enough to pick up a bottle. The family's history is from Piedmont, 2nd and 3rd generation now growing 30 acres (or was it hectares?) of estate grapes. — 7 months ago

Another solid vintage. Bright lemon yellow color. Aromas of orchard fruit, wild flowers and ginger spice. Flavors of peach, green apple, grapefruit, gooseberries and a bit of mineral. Distinctive and pleasant saline note on the medium/plus finish. Crisp acidity and well balanced. Well rounded texture. I thought I may have waited a bit too long to open this wine, but was pleased with how fresh and vibrant it was. Consistently high quality from an excellent producer. — 15 days ago

Star bright yellow gold. Inviting nose of earthy lemon and marzipan. Firm, zingy acidity from entry to finish on the medium full palate which yields lemon zest, concrete block, and citrus rind. Finish is moderate and lemony. This full-bodied style of Torrontes is an excellent foil for hearty seafood or pork dishes: a perfect white counterpart to Uruguay’s signature red variety, Tannat. this was great - i tend to roll the dice with wines from Uruguay w/mixed results but this over achieved: deep ruby opaque wafting impressive black & red fruit, deep rich generous, along with typical CF medley of cracked pepper, herbaceous, and some bell pepper notes. Traditional yet w/New World exuberance this was balanced & polished on palate, med bodied harmonious med tannins & acidity leading to lingering finish. Bump for QPR — 21 days ago
