130.9 proof. fire. tasty. — a year ago
Deep inky purple and not a trace of brick. Heavy tar and jam (not off-putting) on the nose and not surprisingly a bit of alcohol. Delicious balance of jaminess and ripe black fruit. Enjoy in next couple years though to taste the fruit. Drinking with berebere chicken and rice. — 5 years ago
held my breath as I opened the bottle and was relieved when the wine poured out light in color, not a trace of the premox that pervades this wine, though it was a bit more honeyed than usual but still had superb flavors and depth. Citrus and some apples, white flowers, not real steely like CC often is, the bottle was emptied rather quickly. — 5 years ago
Light on it’s feet, nice acidity and delicacy of Rufina .Not a ton of funk but no trace of the barrique. Poured out an hour or so before Amatriciana.Delish. — 6 years ago
Beautiful bourbon, nice amount of oak, brown sugar, vanilla and easy to drink. — 7 years ago
Mineral driven, some vanilla, stones, crisp golden apple. Medium acidity. Crisp and friendly. Drinkable summer wine. — 7 years ago
This is generally regarded as the best example of Shiraz Viognier in Australia but recently I tried a 2015 Serrat Shiraz Viognier which was the equal of Clonakilla if not better. As per previous Delectable notes this bottle had the trademark dried spices, cloves a trace of pepper and dried meat. Barely medium weight and always a joy to drink. My last bottle. — 8 months ago
Fruit forward in this full body wine with a nice hint of leather to it. Not bad. — a year ago
Best liquor on the market. — 5 years ago
fresh squeezed grapefruit on the nose and palate upon opening. tightly wound out of the bottle but opened up after an hour in a decanter. time reveals a kiss of cherry and an underlying salinity mixed with a trace of iron. light to medium body and color. not a cocktail wine, but EXCELLENT with food. paired perfectly with black pepper chicken. definitely a go to for weeknight meal pairings. — 6 years ago
Still powerful tannins, could cellar a bit longer. Good balance, but to much body, little to much acid, fruit is somewhat muted. Great with steaks — 7 years ago
This wine has a medium tinted ruby color. The nose is a savory blast. The fruit is dark and muted by the aroma of pipe tobacco, earth, and black olives. The wine’s flavor profile has shades of black cherry and plum, again colored by the savory aspect of the palate. I expect to find some trace of wood, but there is none. The wine was fermented in cement, and half of it was aged that way, so the sip is very clean. The tannins are velvety and the acidity is lively. — 10 months ago

Rare and rather expensive, less than 4000 bottles made. No trace of wood. Just a wonderful Sangiovese, meaty, funky almost syrupy with tannins that make the back of your mouth dry and makes you thirsty for a next glass. Outstanding unfortunately rare and rather (very) expensive. — 6 years ago

Very good wine, in its prime. Still lots of berries, red peppers, long aftertaste. — 6 months ago
