medium ruby with quite wide terracotta rim . Quite light spice filled nose at first , allspice , clove , nutmeg with some liquorice and herbal , tobacco and red plum touches. On the palate a bit leaner than the 1993 , but light dried red fruits, sous bois , tobacco and herbal notes. Good length, really nice balance and intensity with fresh acidity and melted sweet tannins . This is still showing well and can last perhaps a further 5 years or so . We had the pleasure of drinking a 14 year old Rioja. Very old world as it was narrow on the palette with dark cherry, oak, vanilla all very well integrated and balanced. Good length on the finish, present. All aground a wonderful experience. — a month ago

La masía translates as "the farmhouse," which Marimar Estate was designed to resemble. Medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits, dried herbs and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with toasty notes and herb cinnamon spice. Full-bodied, fine soft textured tannins, long finish ending with juicy fruit and spicy herb character.
