Domaine Potinet Ampeau

Robert Ampeau & Fils

Volnay-Santenots 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1976

This btl was much fresher than the last 2 btls opened. A little funk when 1st opened so gave it some needed air so it could settle down showing rich red cherry, strawberry fruit, earth, dried herbs along with savory spices. — 9 months ago

Savigny-lès-Beaune Pinot Noir 1999

Just released a few months ago, and still so youthful after 20 yrs. Forest floor, mushrooms, cherry, and subtle cigar box flavors. Shows what a beautifully aged burgundy can be. — 6 years ago

Cved 2/28/20 after MB tasting of Ampeau Merseault ‘97 fire comp. color is much darker amber. Nose a bit on the oxidized side but not overly so and balanced profile and long finish. Opened next day and went well with dinner. — 6 years ago

Free tasting with Meaursult 2/28/20. Beautiful amber color of mature Burg. What a nice nose of forest floor mushrooms and dried flowers. Slowly evolving for minutes before even tasting. Firm acidic lively balanced texture with a bit of bite going into long waxing and waning finish. Very fresh tasting. and — 6 years ago

Les Pèzerolles Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2002

Just fantastic! Great balance and complexity! Robust dark fruit, mild barnyard and oak, so many layers! Age has done it well but it was many years to grow! — 7 years ago
