Prieure Saint-Hippolyte - Languedoc - Blanc
50% Grenache Blanc, 25% Viognier, 25% Vermentino
Nice fresh fruit, dry, Peach, pear, floral, wax, stones.
Not the biggest, baddest, longest aging wine ever, but... a very well made Languedoc Blanc to be enjoyed now, under $15.
Guessing 11-12.5% ABV (label range 11-14), went nicely with an omelette dinner.

Man tackar. Superkomplex doft. Aromatisk men citrus och snäckskal. Bra potent syra som fyller gommen. Nektar, bakad apelsin, knäckig, oljig med mineralisk knaster. — 9 years ago

Gott före maten, lätt och friskt. — 10 years ago
Light garnet color with a small ruby core. Aromas of wet soil, red berries and dried rose petals. Flavors of raspberries, red currants, mushrooms and savory spices. Long lasting finish. Gripping acidity with very silky tannins. Light bodied and quite savory but still full of finesse. Needs a bit of aeration to fully open up. Solid value and nice mid-week option. Thanks for the bottle, Kase. — 5 months ago
Garnet in color. Intense aroma of red licorice, cranberry, dried cherries, and smoke. Incredible earthy palate that tastes of campfire and unsweetened chocolate. It finishes with very mild tannins and long lingering flavor of earth , like autumn leaves on a forest floor. — 6 years ago
Smells and tastes delicious. A very full in taste and light red wine. Tastes a bit like forest fruits and chocolate. Beautiful bordeaux color. — 7 years ago
Another slam dunk from Alsace! Liquid gold from the great -15 vintage. Nose is oily and full of liquorice, fennel, lots of tropical fruits, and chalkywet minerals; on the palate the wine is equally oily, fruity, robust, peppery and with a high-octane finish. Will keep a box for a few years. — 8 years ago
Gordons tasting Deiss 6/6/17. $26. #1. Low production at one third allowed. 10,000 cases total for the house. Classic cool climate Pinot nose of bright red berries raspberry Anna minerals. Medium and tart body with medium acidic finish. Good value. Mix of Pinot noir and others on granite soil. Delicate and minerals and long. — 9 years ago

2015 vintage, tasted June 2021. At peak, Very easy to drink. Light green - gold color. A little oak, hidden acidity. Medium body and finish. — 5 years ago
Softer than many Sancerre rouges I’ve had, but still mineral driven. A very pretty version of Sancerre Pinot. — 7 years ago
Picked up this 6 Euro bottle a few weeks back & paired with Italian tonight. Still trying to learn what it is I’m smelling and tasting... — 8 years ago
My first Italian Pinot Noir - and much like my favourite French varietal hailing from St. Hippolyte, this one delivers with a satisfying mouth feel and experience. Punches above its weight for the price, and reminiscent of some French lineage. Excellent finish - a great glass all around! — 9 years ago
Tart. Complex. Zing! — 9 years ago
Citrus and floral nose. Lime and orange citrus, zesty acidity, and mineral and drying flower petals. Love Pinot Rose. — 10 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Pale lemon color, with complex aromas of citrus, floral and flinty stone fruits. On the palate flavors of lemon, pineapple and peach with floral notes and slight herb spice. Long finish, vivid acidity, balanced, ending with citrus and stony mineral spice. — 3 days ago
