Touch of oak, mineral, wet rocks lemon citrus, crisp Chardonnay — 4 years ago
Spring 2021. 10 years is a great age for the denser Maconnais wines - enough time to develop richness and complexity but not so much as to fade all the fruit. — 5 years ago
Had for my bday dinner with Daniel, Julien, and Paul. Super delicious. — 6 years ago

Like a junior Meursault. Deftly balanced. Mineral and lively. — 10 years ago
Mineral and citrus. Rich, lemon, grapefruit. Daniel Barraud Arpege St. Veran Chardonnay 2020 @3432, Umem - JH, 230811 — 3 years ago
Very nice Cornas from a producer I haven’t had before. Great selection by the somm at Daniel to go with relatively meaty second and third courses. Ever so slightly “modern” in terms of the seamlessness and hint of oak. But really a very nice wine with great dark fruit, pepper, olive, everything you’d want from a northern Rhone. Nice acid on the finish too. — 3 years ago
Spring / summer 2021. More balanced than the warm 2018, but needs a little time for the elements to come together a bit. — 5 years ago
Clean nose, light green apple, oak but not heavy. Creamy on the palate, some minerality. Plan to finish this bottle tomorrow, based on other reviewers I should expect enhancement.
Thanks @Lyle Fass but I'm going to stick with the La Verchère VV, and cellar them. This was an interesting comparison to the Grgich Chardonnay (2012) tonight, more noticeable oak on this bottle, albeit not distracting.
Day Two: Still creamy oak, but the minerality and acid seem to have really picked up. — 9 years ago
It was a perfect choice for the filet mignon at Daniel Boulud. 2007 probably at its peak right now. — 9 years ago
The 2021 Alliance has everything, it is not as well balanced as the 2020 but close. — 3 years ago
2021 spring / summer. Nice country Chardonnay with lemon and white flowers. — 5 years ago
Fresh Chardonnay from the village of Chaintré, southwest of Mâcon. Vines are about 30 years old and rooted in clay and silex soils. Fresh, mineral, citrus, hints of lemon custard. Good acidity, subtly saline. Refreshing, easy to drink — 5 years ago
Nothing better than a well aged Chardonnay and fatty, cold water fish. This bottle is our go to pairing for grilled steelhead trout.
Nose is evolving since my prior post, oxidized green apple peel and cold caramel.
Palate is lightly sweet lemon curd/custard, baked red apple, cooked lemon, warm granite dust and a zing of acidity on the close.
Our feline house managers pestered for comfortable portions on the trout, they are good boys and girls, generally, so we endulge.
Great night listening to Hugh Masekela and Mongo Santamaria on the HiFi, everything complimented!
One bottle left, then we move along to the next vintage. — 7 years ago

Superb color; good stain on the cork. Deep cherry nose with rich Pinot flavors. Lovely balance and aftertaste. Good for another 10 years. — 9 years ago

Astonishing find, single bottle from AA way back, powerful, subtle, complex, mouth-coating, yet lifted into long finish. Wow. From ‘30s vines and just missed 1cru due to slanted exposition. Stunner — 7 months ago
