Took a bit of a gamble given the rep for being very long lived. Opened t-8 hours and decanted 3+ hours. Still quite closed. You can get a sense of the depth of the fruit on the nose but overall it is veiled. The tannins are serious. Would never have guessed Beaujolais- one to let rest for many years. — 7 months ago
This bottle had the Suchots signature about as clearly as any. But was upstaged by the Rousseau and Moillard at lunch yesterday — 2 months ago
2009. Musty in all the right ways on the nose. Smooth and balanced. — 3 years ago
Port Wine characteristics. Quite plumy. Tannins come back as this gets air. Yet they are fully integrated. Hint Cardamom then earth, dirt, dust, orange zest, sadly this winery does not exist any more. But in a way this tastes a little too predictable for me. Although for folks who never had an old burgh this would be a thrill. And may be i was wrong i the first 5 min. This really blows out into a beauty with air. — 3 months ago
