Isosceles Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2019

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2019 “Isosceles” pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of dark brambles, crème de cassis, tobacco, Fresno chilis, Mexican chocolate, dry earth and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This is a big, powerful wine but it’s fairly balanced. I would drink now though it probably wouldn’t struggle to see past 2029. — 3 days ago

Sea Smoke

Ten Estate Vineyard Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2016

Lucious and a bit opulent palate with aromas and flavors or Kirsh and stewed strawberries make this a concentrated Pinot. Velvety tannins and a medium-full body make for a nice palate. — 11 hours ago

Williams Selyem

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021

A blend from several vineyards, including Middle Reach, Green Valley, Santa Rosa Plain, and the Laguna Ridge area. Bright Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, cherry and currants with pepper, tea, herbs, vanilla and oak, aged on French oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, rich long finish, ending with spice, ripe fruit and oaky tones. Very Nice! — 24 days ago

Carneros Chardonnay 2022

Golden hay color. Banana, peach, pineapple, honey, apple, pear on the nose. Rich and buttery on the palate. Lychee, vanilla, cream. Distinct palate, but I prefer a less oaky chard. — a month ago

Sea Smoke

Southing Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

2021 vintage. Magnum format. Medium body. Decently aromatic nose but not striking. Smooth draw with a modicum of raspberry and clove on the finish. Needs to drop a little bit of the oak influence which will likely take 7-10 years. 6.6.24. — 11 days ago
