Matriarch Cuvée Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2012

A cuvee of the four single vineyards at Cristom, from the baller ‘12 vintage. Tannins nicely resolved here, drinking beautifully. Time did this justice, it was a beast on release. Would love to try this next to the same year Eileen, which has always been my favorite from the winery. — 6 months ago

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2018

Still zippy, red fruit, wet volcanic rock, fireworks. But this time I made the mistake of serving after a fuller-bodied Domaine du Pegau! I enjoy this pinot slightly more than the average Cristom but less than the average Radio Coteau. — 9 months ago

Eileen Vineyard Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2014

We had the 2014 Vintage on 6/9-10/22. Red cherry and sandalwood on the bouquet. Red cherry, raspberry and strawberry on the palate. Fruit forward. Medium bodied. Needed aeration. — 4 months ago

A beautiful Syrah from the masters behind Cristom . The most interesting Syrah I have tasted from Walla Walla valley . Serious , complexed . Go is it some more time . Very good — 7 months ago

AVA Series Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2017

2nd bottle of the three AVA series. Noticeably riper than the McMinnville but really tasty. Eola-Amity up next. — 2 years ago

Estate Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2018

Good fruit, good spice, doing well but I don’t think much improvement left…very good and have 10 bottles left… but I will think we will drink quicker than normal! — 5 months ago

I enjoyed this pinot, as I enjoy many from Cristom (in the Peay/Radio-Coteau family for me). It didn’t taste “old”, as it still had some fruit, but it was smooth and subtle. Would drink again. $45. — 7 months ago

Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2018

Color of bubbly purple, different shades. Quite dark considering she is a Pinot. Nose of dried strawberry, vanilla, warm spice, fermented prune, a bit cherry jam, and quite plummy. Taste shows similar signatures with addition of mellow tannins, extra touch of sweetness, drizzled zest, and refined acidity. Also quite silky. And some more ripe fruits. A full body, clean, yet non traditional Pinot Noir. Clean, flavorful, and well balanced, especially after she opens up. — 2 years ago
