A botrytized beauty. Copper gold color, slight sweet nuttiness to show its age, but also still showing some beautiful honeyed stone fruit, and even some remnants of its erstwhile youthful acidity. Beautiful wine both with the foie gras starter and the blue cheese later on. — 4 years ago
Bianco Antico sees a ridiculous 180 days on the skins of Malvasia di Candia Aromatica (different from plain Malvasia). It’s a grippy fully hopped juicy East Coast IPA. Copper tone. Bitter citrus and green tea and grapefruit.
Must love orange wine. Must love bitter dry. — 5 years ago
2004 vintage. Last tasted 03.01.25 (9.6). Another decade beckons. Beautiful acidity and balance. Light-medium body. Exquisite color. Slightly metallic/copper flavor with decaying rose petals. At the top of the bell curve currently. Phenomenal. 04.04.25. — 6 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Better on Day 2. The 2017 Rosé pours a unique copper gold color with medium viscosity; no signs of particles or gas. On the nose, the wine is developing with fascinating notes of black lemon, bruised pink apple, raspberry, marjoram, tarragon, and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with perceptible but low tannin and high acid. Confirming the notes on the nose with the addition of a somewhat nutty characteristic reminiscent of spiced almonds. The finish is medium+ and savory. A wine for thinking. Similar to the R. Lopez de Heredia wines: if you like the white, you will like the rosé. Just lovely. Drink now with patience and a slight chill; best after 2027 through 2037. — a year ago
The 2019 Pinot Grigio Jesera has a pretty pink color with copper hues strewn throughout. It’s wonderfully fresh and lifted, showing white strawberry, apple, a dusting of confectioners’ sugar and hints of candied ginger. Silky textures flesh out across the senses, weightier than expected yet perfectly balanced by brisk acids, taking on a more savory persona, as notes of peach and melon give way to zesty exotic spices. There’s an almost-Asian peppery note here coupled with the wine’s inner florals that excites the senses. The Jesera really makes the case for skin-contact Pinot Grigio and will appeal to a broad range of palates. (Eric Guido, Vinous, January 2021)

Skin contact Slovenian Pinot Grigio. Beautiful light copper/peach color. Aromas and flavors of ripe pear, melon and nectarines. Additional notes of minerals and yeast. Nice creamy texture. Full flavored and nice mouthfeel. Crisp acidity. Very dry, delicate and quite fresh tasting. Wonderful complexity. Great quality for the price. — 7 months ago
Gorgeous light copper color. Honey and melon on the nose. Initially a bubbly, dry white. Settles into a smooth minerality with a soft sourness that subtly becomes lightly fruited as it's in contact w the air. Incredible! — 4 years ago
This superstar 2012 vintage just doesn’t seem to miss. Especially not when paired with the elegance of Bollinger.
A gorgeous rose copper color in the glass. Plenty of fine bubbles that seem to just go on and on. The approachability of these outstanding 12’s is immediate. Wild strawberries and herbs shine on the nose. Red currant, raspberries, and stewed plums. Some exquisite spice notes along with white flowers. Tangerines and watermelons play a part.
The vitality and sheer energy of this is amazing. 67% Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Verzenay. 33% Chardonnay from Oiry and Le Mesnil sur Oger with 5% still red wine from Bollinger’s legendary Côte aux Enfants vineyard. Terrific youthful tension and balance. Zippy acidity with 8 g/l of sugar. Disgorged in August of 2019 and already showing some maturity.
Pure romance on the tongue. Silky smooth and elegant with fresh red berries and more spice on the palate. Saffron and honey with oak complimenting. The Lehmann Jamesse Grand Blanc provided more floral notes, while the Riedel Dom Perignon showed more ripe fruit and minerality. Both wonderful. Yes this will obviously develop over time and become so much more special but you deserve this now. So do I. Enjoy.

Medium copper salmon colour , with wide slightly yellow tinged rim . Toasty notes , with some dried herbs , orange rind , candle wax , toasted almonds , sea breeze, in some ways quite similar to the white reserva. On the palate this is quite intense and grippy again , with a nutty , spiced orange rind , dried red fruit . Good balanced acidity , good volume and decent length . This is ready and drinking well now but will probably last well over the next 5 -8 years, though I don’t see it improving — 4 months ago
