Wow what a surprising and interesting wine. Done in amarone styling this wine must be very intense on release. At 24 years old it was still punchy but very drinkable. Layers of flavors and aromatics was actually great with the rack of lamb — 7 months ago

It’s not about QPR when you have a chance to drink history. I had other plans for this bottle but I thought about the bottles I’ve sold over the years and never tasted which now I regret.
You can’t take them with you so you might as well enjoy while you can. Very good, bigger than I expected from a Burgundy but its another bucket list bottle — 6 months ago

Should have seen the tacos 🌮 I had with it, that would cause an envious uproarDRC Night at Secrets Moxché in Cancun. Opulent elegance. Violets, cherry, forest, mushroom. So round and balanced. — 6 months ago

Popped and poured and started drinking about 30 minutes later. Amazing! Nose to die for! — 5 months ago
A little shy on opening and prominent tannins over 8 hours. Definitely would improve with more cellar time. Overall complex and earthy with bark undergrowth tobacco clove anise balsamic. Lingering finish. — 6 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2018 “Il Rosso delle Donne” pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart, mostly red fruits: Morello cherry, raspberries, strawberry, roses, a whiff of horse blanket, red rope licorice, dried green herbs, and dry gravel. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is a slightly wild but positively gorgeous example of a Nebbiolo-based blend from Alto Piemonte. There’s an old school feel about this that completely charms the heart. Too bad there is so little of it: the entire Boca DOC has less than 50 acres planted to vine. Castello Conti only made 3912 bottles of this gem. Drink now through 2048+. — a year ago

I bought this about 15 years ago from Vienna Vintner and glad I did because it stood the test of time after the past 13 years in a basement. Glad I didn’t wait longer but this is very enjoyable at 19! — 5 months ago
