Recently went to tasting featuring bunch of “TheCalling” Wines. Tasted this ‘14 Pinot 2yrs ago-developed nicely. Sports commentator Jim Nantz & wine guru Peter Deutsch met by chance at CT restaurant, each having dinner w/friends. Jim had a passion for wine and was exploring the next step when Peter stopped by the table, that meeting started a collaboration. Ruby with berry fruit aromas and complex spice. On the palate cherry with vanilla oak and pepper spice. Lingering finish ending with cacao & oak notes. — 5 years ago
👍🏼
K&L notes, Attractive aromas of cedar, caramel, crushed pineapple, eucalyptus-vanilla, and fine tea with a round, vibrant, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a smooth, complex, very long allspice, lime leaf, dried mango, smoke, and sea salt finish. Exotic aromas and superb integration make this the Cognac or Single Malt-lovers Tequila; a must-try." (04/2019) Distiller's note: "A distinct tequila, El Tesoro Paradiso® is slowly aged for five years in French oak ex-Cognac barrels. Created by Don Felipe Camarena in collaboration in with Alain Royer of A. de Fussigny Cognac, this unique tequila has an earthy taste with a hint of minerality, tropical characteristics, and sweet notes of butterscotch." — 4 years ago
Lousas from Envinate, vinas de aldea CV (Cuvée Viticole). Color: Dark ruby to pale garnet around the rim. Nose: red fruit and pepper, blackberry fruit, hot spices (cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper). Kind of a hearty nose, like the smell of spices from a hearty chili.

I have not had many mencia before, so can’t really present a fair comparison. This is how I compartmentalize this wine: It has the structure of a well-made Burgundy minus the telltale leather flavors of a pinot noir. Other than that, the earthiness and the tannins and the length are simply majestic like the best of burgundy... but which Burgundy? I can’t tell, @brianmcclinticms, any thoughts?

@viticolewine great collaboration with Envinate, keep ‘em coming. Migan (La Habanera) was out of this world, and this one keeps growing on me! — 6 years ago
My last Gratitude, so now I’m bitter🥴
In the spring of 2018, our Winemaker, Jordan Fiorentini, headed Down Under to work a harvest in Barossa Valley, Australia with one of Bill Armstrong’s good wine buddies, Michael Twelftree of Two Hands Wines. During Jordan’s visit, the two bonded over their love of Grenache, and thus, worked together to create a wine from some stunning 70-year-old Grenache vines in the area. The 50% whole cluster fermentation took place in Barossa, but the resulting wine made its way back to Paso Robles to do its barrel-aging and bottling in our winery. This collaboration between two countries is the perfect way to say thank you to doctors, nurses, & volunteers who serve on the front lines during this global pandemic.
