Château La Croix Saint Michel

Franck et Olivier Mousset

Clos Saint Michel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2022

Strong garrigue (sage and lavender dominate the herbal components), black pepper, and mineral aromas. Tinges of green tobacco, pink peppercorns, and dried chilies. Definitely one of the best GSMs I've had. — a month ago

Château Canon

Croix Canon Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2022

Atherton Wine Imports 2026 tasting at République, Los Angeles. 2022 vintage. Better, longer finish than the 2021 version. Dark plum and cassis ruling the roost here. 3.18.26. — 4 months ago

La Croix Bonis

Saint Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

Merlot dominates this blend but there is some Cabernet Sauvignon and some Cabernet Franc blended in. Medium ruby color with a slight clear meniscus. Fruit forward aromas and flavors of blackberry, black cherry, dark plum, baking spices and cedar. Medium-plus finish. Medium body and very silky tannins. Well balanced/layered acidity and a very silky texture. A bit more austere than a traditional Medoc red blend. At peak. — 10 months ago

A second Acker buy. CVed with first 3/25/20. Lighter and medium bodied wine that’s balanced and good pairing for lots of food. Got that stimulating texture of the Southern Rhône blend. Great buy! AA5. Opened 6/6/20 very fresh texture still with the lighter not so complex red berry notes that paired very well with Amah bone soup with highly watered down Kimchee. Relatively simple but still a good pairing wine. 70 Grenache 30 Syrah. — 6 years ago

Delicious and nicely balanced. Lite and more green or acidic. Uncle Dan liked it more than me. But still very good wine! Would definitely get again. — 3 months ago

Clos Saint Michel

Châteauneuf-du-Pape White Rhône Blend 2022

Bright gold. Abundant nose of baked apricot. Echoed in the full palate which adds orange rind, dark peach, and a slight hint of stony mineral. Medium acidity; just enough to keep it food friendly. Otherwise it's nicely rich in the mouth and slides smoothly into the lengthy, palate-continuing finish. Rich seafood and poultry dishes are the call to order here, especially with cream sauces. A really complex white at a decent price for the appellation. Drink now through 2025. — 3 years ago
