Château La Croix Saint Michel

Domaine Michel Noëllat

Nuits-Saint-Georges Pinot Noir 2019

Dark fruit for days but focused and weightless. Still a baby compared to the ‘18. The last glass 9 hours after opening was the best. — 14 days ago

Château Canon

Croix Canon Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Great effort in this not so great vintage.
Well-balanced, soft, supple, lovely fruit, some stemmy/green notes of course, some spices and minerals as well and sufficient stuffing and body to boot.

Quite pale in color after 21 years. Very port wine like. Was too busy for detailed notes. Winner of the evening. — 3 months ago

Franck et Olivier Mousset

Clos Saint Michel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2021

Ripe red fruit, dark cherry, medium bodied with a fairly bright acidity. Plenty of leather, some oak, and hints of a funky earthiness. Would go well with a ripe blue cheese. Lively pairing with a ribeye and sweet potatoes. Would do well aging for a few more years to mellow the acidity. — 3 months ago
