2008 is lovely right now. Great balance of fruit, earth, and wood. — 4 years ago

Château du Gaby

Cuvée Red Bordeaux Blend 2012

A very good Bordeaux in the style that we like (juicy with tannins and not much earth). Not sure it is worth the $50 price tag, but a very good option. Fruit forward and not terribly earthy for an old world wine. Good tannins though could smooth out a bit with more time. — 6 years ago

Fantastic for the price point. Drinks more of a veggie cab franc than a GSM. Buy again if see it! — 2 years ago

Domaine du Colombier

Cuvée Gaby Crozes-Hermitage Blanc 2016

Nighttime action shot from a distanced meet up last night. Spice laden peach & pear. Aromatics are off the charts. Could have smelled this all night as it kept evolving. Everything is hope for in a White Rhône. — 4 years ago

When Colombier is on its on. Northern Rhône whites are still great values.

grand vin de bordeaux canon fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2008

Tad oxidative, high concentration of pyrazines- green bell pepper and fresh peppercorn. Black-fruited, mid-full weight with graphite, menthol, licorice, plums and red currant. Great value for a second label, about 80% Merlot. — 6 years ago

A brilliant vintage for this wine. A top 5 Crozes. Easy. Spice, game, some funk, blueberry, black berry, black cherry, huge granite and even some wilted flowers. Young but tasty palate of dazzling granite and velvety tannins and engaging energy from the minerality. Terrific power, depth and concentration. Needs 5 years. So long and such beautifully defined fruit on the incredibly long finish. Really rich and dark. Awesome. Wait 5 years. As this opens the balance becomes superb. Almost a 9.4. I’ll be back. — 4 years ago
