Quite deep ruby , with a wide garnet rim, quite young looking. Dried herbs , smoked meat , red cherry, violets , liquorice and antique furniture polish notes . On the palate quite round and rich, sweet red fruits , with that herbal tinge , those liquorice and charcuterie notes also evident . This in fact still shows well a day later , still quite full and rich , with red plum and black cherry notes . Quite good acidity , with quite gritty tannins, balanced alcohol . Decent length . This is very good now though no rush , mature but will continue to show well for a while longer , from now over the next 5 years . 2023 vintage. 60% Sémillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. Fieuzal is a personal favourite, and while I know the "grands vins" quite well, this is my first encounter with the second wine. Brilliant light golden colour. Seductive nose with fresh pineapple,white peach,grapefruit, and a hint of basil. In the mouth it confirms the synergy between the two grape varieties, a subtle interplay between exotic and citrus fruits, with impeccable purity, freshness and very nice length. Abv. 12,5%. Lovely wine full of flavour and feels very thick or full bodied. Caramels and soft oak on the noise, slightly tannic and the finish but she’s still young at just 9 years old. Another few years let in this for sure. — 8 years ago
