Beautiful wine! 2009 Margaux from Château D'Issan ...even more enjoyable knowing that we have actually visited and toured the 15th century Château....one of the few actually surrounded by a moat!
Will post tasting notes soon, but this bottle opened up beautifully. 😀🍷🇫🇷 — 2 years ago
Interesting wine, much better on day two. Nose was great from the outset, blackcurrant, pencil lead, leather with a floral and herbal, tea like aroma. Day one it starts fruity on the palate but finishes woody and a little dry / sour, by day two the finish is sweeter and a little smokey with a hint of ash. Rich and deep red in colour. Probably needs a few more years in the bottle to really be at its best but enjoyable now. — 7 months ago
Much brighter than the 2009 chateau d'issan that we had. Good amount of fruit but not a fruit bomb. Good, tasty. More complexities than the Dissan. That one is much more dark. — 3 years ago
If the d'Issan was a treat this was...Utterly delicious, and from a larger format would've been sublime I have no doubt — 5 years ago
