Beautiful CDP, splits the difference between modern and classic styles. Not too hot at 14.5%. — 3 years ago

Hadn’t tried this in a while. Drinking great. Actually needs some air still. No rush on my other 2. Should easily stay for 3+ years — 5 years ago

Could this be the best value I’ve ever tasted? It’s right up there. Sweet purple fruits, mineral backbone, grilled meat. A lovely lavender note; both dried and fresh, excellent length on the finish. I love lower ABV Syrah that is not underripe; 12.5%. Does have some tannin; I’m interested to revisit in 3-5 years. From Fass selections — a month ago

One of those wines where I have no idea when/how/where I acquired it. Didn’t know what to expect, so I opened this with dinner.

Dark red-purple in the glass. For being Walla Walla, this seemed balanced as expected with zero traces of funk. I wouldn’t say there is a total sense of place for this wine but it is varietally correct in style. Spiced plum and charcoal aromatically, as well as dark floral notes. On the palate, it is filled with dark roasted mocha and high percentage dark cocoa. Finish shows a dark red (black cherry) and black fruit (blackberries, black currant) dominated profile. I consumed this from bottle over the course of an evening and it showed well…a splash decant wouldn’t hurt, but this is mostly in a drink-now/over the next 3-5yrs phase with regards to structure.

I did not realize they made Syrah. Have only had their Pinots and Pinot Gris…which can be very good.

@Bryan Kesting : Based on my research, it seems this was a one off as I haven’t come across any other vintages for this.

Cellier des Princes

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 2022

This was quite good 1-2 hours after opening. Great nose of bright cherry fruit and classic CdP funk. Sadly, at hour 3, the nose became mute. Poor @Paul K arrived hour 3. — 2 months ago
