Stylistically similar to Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon. Rich and fruit forward with loads of oak influences. Probaly slightly more jammy than Caymus, it also has a bit more minerality nuance.
Undeniably delicious and easy to drink, it might benefit from several more years of bottle age.

Smooth and rich with pronounced berry fruit. I prefer a bit more earthy and forest floor but still a nice accompaniment to rack of lamb. — 13 days ago

Red Schooner Voyage 7 Malbec 2017

Made from grapes grown in the Andes Mountains, shipped chilled to Napa Valley and produced with the same techniques as our Caymus Cabernet. No date but referred to as 2013! Deep Ruby with aromas of dark red fruits, baking spice and dried floral notes. On the palate flavors of ripe blueberry and blackberry fruit with licorice, herb and oak. Fine tannins, lively acidity, long finish ending with fruit and sweet mineral spice. Nice! — 5 years ago

Materium Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

I Just picked it up from FedEx, trying one early. Not dissimilar to prior vintages, full bodied, extracted per norm. The finish is a little short but other than that🤷🏼‍♂️ ask a professional Somm.
Bought two .375 to drink & a mag to add to my vertical.
Even these high end wines are going the way of Austin Hope & Caymus.

06/01/26. Yum. This is a wine you fight for the last drop. Enjoyed with prime ribeye. Smooth taste with great smooth aftertaste. Bummed I didn’t have a 2nd bottle on hand. — 19 days ago

North of my typical price point, this was quite expressive for a cab. Robust fruit flavor, yet smooth. Other bottles suit my palate better. — 4 months ago

Fascinating. Caymus made Malbec from Andes grape shipped to Rutherford. Aged 14 mo in French oak and bottled Oct 2012. Dark ruby color and lush fruits and medium weight on palate with nice finish. Didn’t pair so well with dinner but a good drink on its own. AA9 value. — 6 years ago
