Albillo Mayor with a Mediterranean soul.
Enjoyed last night at NOTK, a glass that truly lingered.

Bendito Destino – Albillo Mayor 2023

Pure, layered and beautifully focused. Ripe white fruit, floral notes and a subtle saline edge that strongly recalls the crisp, mineral Assyrtiko wines of Santorini.

No oak influence in my opinion, just clarity, tension and texture, a white wine built for the table.

A Ribera del Duero white that proves Albillo Mayor can be both expressive and refined.

Light gold in color.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing limes, apples, light grapefruits, herbs, earth and sea salt.

Tangy finish with almonds and limes.

This is a very unique white wine from Ribera Del Duero in Spain. Drinking very fresh and young as a 6 year old.

A good quality wine that will be nice to revisit it in a couple of years, and see how it evolves.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.

Albillo Mayor grapes from old vines.

Medium ruby in color with a garnet rim; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary, and tertiary aromas of dried figs, cedar, and sour cherry; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, medium alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of strawberry sauce, red currants, and wet gravel with a long finish. This wine is past its prime. The fruit was completely gone after about 20 minutes. I bet it was a great wine a few years ago. — 13 days ago
