I have been feeling unwell for the past couple of days and it may or may not be covid 19 as I have been in contact with someone who tested positive. In this country tests are scarce and reserved for people with severe symptoms which i don't seem to have (even though I was in rather bad shape yesterday night). As a matter of testing myself I opened this bottle to check if my senses of taste and smell are still working. Until now they are.
Lemon, and other citrusy scents on the bitter side (Bergamot?) along with white flowers and a mineral thing. There is a petrol thing too in there. The palate is well designed with some strong acid backbone, a nice citrus fruit all along with that nice, subtle bitterness, à good width and some grip, some volume in mid palate and a long finish with the same citrusy, gently bitter notes. This is a very good food wine! We had mussels and fries with it, great pairing. — 2 days ago
Lovely, light and fresh. Really affordable enjoyed best in the sun. — a month ago
This is a terrific Austrian Riesling. Age has helped it develop some complexity in the nose, where it shows deep ripe apples, some petrol notes, warm earth and mineral notes. Flavors are very deep, with dark-mineral infused deep and ripe fruit, very good concentration and acids. — 5 days ago
Really very nice, but needs at least a bit of air to open up. Not sure I’ve had a screwcap with this much age before but it held up very well and changed meaningfully with even 30 mins of air (which makes some good sense I suppose). Aromatically quite intense, with waves of white fruit and flowers. Mouth filling in a way few wines are. Some good chalkiness on the finish. Acid slightly muted with the age but the finish is long. Perfect with some simple roast tilefish. — 6 days ago
