Deep Ruby red color with aromas of berry fruit and earthy spice, aged for 24 months in stainless and large oak barrels, Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon blend, #17 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2025. On the palate flavors of cherry and plum with tobacco, floral and earthy flowery notes. Full-bodied, well balanced approachable tannins on a medium+ finish ending with fruit, espresso and a mineral character. Grab some Italian food and enjoy. — a month ago
Probably my favorite Sangiovese so far.
Nose is expressive - cherry, plum, graphite, spice, lavender.
Tastes like cherry and dark fruit, minerals, tobacco.
Full bodied, rich and intense.
With age it probably will live up to the multiple 96+ professional reviews. — 2 months ago
Splash decanted and enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2019 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, red flowers, black tea, dried green herbs and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and has that Ciacci Piccolomini silkiness. I felt the 2019 was a little reticent for the first 30min (not at all surprised) but opened beautifully after that and continued to build steam until the last glass. Very easy to enjoy and fabulous with bolognese. Drink now with a 30min decant and through 2044 — a month ago
5/2026. Nice fruit and finish. Enjoyed with the sea bass at Halls Chophouse. — a month ago
This is a tasty, elegant Chianti where the savory elements and fruit have equal billing. On the nose, aromas of earthy spice, dark cherry, leather, and a slight hint of dried herbs. The palate has plums, dark cherries, and dried fruit with a beautiful underlying layer of leather, earth, clove, and orange zest. The persistent finish leaves a lovely taste of dried fruit and spice on the palate. Some slight hints of grilled meat come through in the finish as well. So tasty. Soft on the palate, although tannins are slightly drying in the finish. Notes are based on pour from bottle on 2nd day, as 1st day my taste buds were a bit off due to recovering from a cold. Medium bodied, medium+ acidity. Thanks to @Tom Casagrande for making me aware of the Rufina subzone. — a month ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2021 Riserva pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, red flowers, old wood, dried green herbs and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. A young, taught Monsanto CCR and I believe this will open with some more time on its side. Drink now if you must but better after 2031 and through 2046. — 19 days ago
A testament to what a great producer can do in a less than stellar vintage. Medium garnet color with a small ruby core and slight brick rim. Aromas of macerated red fruit, dried herbs and wood smoke. Flavors of dark cherries, dried tarragon, basil and sage, and smoky vanilla. Touch of minerality on the long and lingering finish with ample acidity. Extremely savory and complex. In its prime. Should have decanted this one. Thank you for sharing this bottle, Petey P! Memorial Day 2026. — a month ago
Would love to taste this again in 2 years! — 2 days ago

Juicy Tuscan red blend with medium tannin and acidity enjoyed with steak salad at Willow and Ivy, Lennox Hotel, Boston — a month ago
We had a vertical tasting with 2007. Both excellent. 07 lighter in color. 07 a little more fragrant. Both had tastes of leather tobacco and black cherry. Both medium bodied. Going forward, I will drink Brunello sooner than 20 years. Some fruit got lost a bit — 2 months ago

2019 vintage. Medium/medium-heavy body. Have found a vast majority of the exalted 2019 vintage Brunellos underwhelming. This one restored my faith. Ageworthy and slightly restrained while leaking/spitting out just enough dark fruit magic upon entry. Mid-level tannic confirmation at the clearly signed exit. Tastes likes a heady, 50/50 mix of dialed down, self-expectations paired with the parents, "sky's the limit," visions. Great now but try to avoid opening for another 3+ years if you can. 6.24.26. — 3 days ago
