thin gem-like easy to drink def get again — a month ago
Bouche par un fruité qui mouille, qui s’accroche et s’accroche encore, laissant une finale à la fois nette, substantielle et légèrement saline. — 4 months ago
Solid for $10. Slight effervescence and malo. Tastes like a dry cider. — 3 years ago
It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby/purple in color with a wide reddish rim.
Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, black cherries, cedar, licorice, light earth, chocolates, black pepper and black tea.
Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate and very fruity with cooked plums, currants, cherries, light earth, cola, chocolates, licorice, cedar, spices, light bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 7-year-old Napa Merlot is drinking beautifully now. Spicy and entertaining. Elegant and easy drinking. Fruit forward and very chocolatey.
Needed some time to open up. I gave it 90 minutes in a decanter, and really enjoyed the nose, once it opened up.
Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.
Nicely balanced, rich and extracted. Smooth and plush. Well balanced and complex. Good by itself as a sipping wine.
A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon.
14.4% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Unknown to me and just found in stash. Looks like a 500 ml but label says 750ml. Not sure if this is correct vs Clariette Ugni Blanc out the same. Just showing oxidation but an interesting almost waxy and complex profile. Great with the sea bass. — 7 months ago
$70 from total wine, really great wine — 3 years ago

The 2021 Barbaresco is impressive. Intensely aromatic and explosive, the straight Barbaresco shows why 2021 is such a pedigreed vintage. Spice, lavender, sage and mint meld into a core of blue/purplish fruit. A gorgeous, overachieving wine, the 2021 just needs time in bottle. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2024)
