Actually a blend of Cab Sauv, Castelão, Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet. This wine is a very dark purple, almost inky. The nose is also dark, showing blackberry notes alongside savory tobacco, spice and earth, all in a very smokey framework. The palate of this interesting blend is nearly stunning. Tannins have a good grip, but the blue fruit flavors are amazing and the acidity leaves the sipper salivating. It seems bizarre to me that this wine cost less than $10. It drinks like it should cost much more.

Very youthful for almost 20y, both in colour and on the nose, with the primary fruit still very present - black cherry, a bit of brambly blackberry, with some leather & cedarwood in the background. Still very fresh & enticing.
Brilliant mouthfeel, medium bodied with present but already mellowed tannins and fresh, juicy acidity. Good depth & great length. Fruity yet savoury, cool, elegant and so drinkable. The bottle empties dangerously fast.

Funky nose of lemon, allspice and sulfur. Light-medium bodied. Beguiling on the palate. Lemon curd, green apple and slightly oxidized in a good way. — 7 months ago
Douro blend, bright and crisp acidity when first open. Some red fruit and pepper notes. Mellow tannins. Full body showing up late with more air. Low alc at 13.5%. Nice. — a year ago
Enjoying a heart warming dinner at our local haunt Sala da Pronzo. This opens immediately drinkable bright and spicy with vanilla. Mellowed out a bit, still a spicy warmth and enjoyable. — 3 years ago
