Campania Felix Wine

Ciro Picariello

Fiano di Avellino 2022

I sometimes like fiano for the somewhat interesting texture even trading off for perhaps a bit less acid. Nice one. — 18 days ago

Feudi di San Gregorio

Sannio Falanghina 2021

Falanghina is fun to share with wine novices and experts alike as they are slightly off the beaten track and utterly delicious. Golden yellow with a zesty, bitter salted almond note on the palate, they are voluptuous, not losing track of that sharp salinity, though. Very alive, bringing in under rich white peach and herbal notes to the mix, finishing floral with that almond note recurring. — 2 months ago

@Bob McDonald one of my favorite under the radar wines!

Feudi di San Gregorio

Serpico Irpinia Aglianico 2003

Finally, this wine got into the zone.
The savory austerity and rugged masculinity melted into the wine to reveal a lovely balanced (and maybe even elegant) beauty.

Flora Beneventano Falanghina 2021

Was pretty skeptical when I saw this was 14.5% - but really quite good. Lots of white fruit / sweet nuts / white grapefruit. Pretty savory and great acid on the finish. Full bodied. Nice value. Still would prefer it to be 12.5% but can’t argue overall. — a month ago

Margaret River Chardonnay 2021

Really nice. Needed some air for the hint of wood char to blow off. Enjoyed at the Australian Club in Sydney. — 22 days ago

Vasse Felix

Heytesbury Margaret River Chardonnay 2015

Quite lemony, grapefruit, citrus, mineral. Nose is modern Australian Chardonnay with struck match and flint. Palate showing grapefruit, citrus and mineral and quite lean compared to other Margaret River Chardonnay icons like Leeuwin Art Series and Pierro. Minimal oak influence. Could cellar for a few more years. — 2 months ago

@Doug Powers Yes Doug. Heytesbury is their top Chardonnay Cuvée. About 10? Years ago their top red Cuvée was also called Heytesbury. The top red is now called Tom Cullity.

Starts with lots of mineral and citrus notes, crisp all the way through. Paired to perfection with Branzino. — 3 months ago
